Founded in 2014, the Los Angeles 180 Degrees Branch works closely with numerous socially-oriented organizations in the Los Angeles area to strengthen their ability to achieve high impact social outcomes. As a group of passionate students who have a deep interest in the intersection of business and non-profits, the LA branch is excited to rapidly expand going forward, and create a greater social impact by working with nonprofits of all kinds in the community.

    The UCLA branch worked with WVIA to improve nightlife in Westwood Village, better voice business owners’ concerns, and streamline the process of opening a new business in the UCLA area.

  • No Limits for Deaf Children

    For this project, this branch was tasked with researching the viability of international expansion and accessing the risks and benefits of strategic partnerships with other for and non-profits.

  • LA Free Arts

    Year: 2015

    180 Degrees UCLA helped LA Free Arts create a fundraising campaign for this project, making sure to devise both strategic and creative ideas to bring in more revenue.

    The branch conducted market research on the costs and benefits of Satellite Ground Systems Security and identified potential security threats and ways to mitigate them.

    The branch conducted research, through surveys and focus groups, to identify ways Teach for America can better recruit STEM majors for its teaching program.

    The branch conducted research on social media marketing and engagement and also gave recommendations on how best to utilize crowdfunding.

    This project, which was done in collaboration with our sister branch in Peru, gave recommendations to a Peruvian social enterprise on how they could market and sell their handmade baby shoes in the American market.
